Our enterprise had been established in 1974 as Uman inter-collective farms educational-production greenhouse combine company. Its founder and the standing director is a famous agronomist, the Renowned worker of agriculture of Ukraine, Nikolai Vasilievich Gordij. 

The history of UGC was rich in changes and reforms, victories and problems. Soon after its establishment the company becomes a constant participant and prizewinner of the EANE (“VDNH”) of USSR and Ukrainian Republic, in 1979 it received the gold medal of the national level. In 1981 the enterprise expanded its activity abroad when it took part in the “Agro-81” exhibition in the German city of Leipzig. 

The new stage of the history of the enterprise started in 2002. The general meeting of the working staff adopted the life-changing decision of restructuring the company and establishing an enterprise of market type, which had a positive effect on the enterprise’s situation.

The year of 2003 became, one may say, the year the UGC was born the second time. We started to build up the volumes of agricultural production on indoor facilities, improved the labor efficiency, the amount of credits and investments into the production rose together with the amount of tax payments and salaries. 

In 2006 we finished the construction of European-type greenhouses and purchased a new sorting line that was the final step towards changing out enterprise into a modern vegetable producer. This very year we introduced to the customers our new trade mark – “From the Garden”. That was a new starting point of our history.

The company managed to realize a number of considerable investment projects, with the participation of leading Western companies and experts. Today the UGC and “From the Garden” trade mark are a business card of Ukrainian vegetable growing industry.
